Welcome To The Jacuzzi

Young the Giant is without a doubt in my top 5 favorite bands of all time, and they are likely to be my favorite of 2011(I know because I’ve had them on repeat for weeks). Please please check them out!

Part 2 of 2 UWL Woman’s Rugby Calendar shoot! I really don’t think I even need to say how epic this was! I want to thank the girls for giving me this opportunity and being so damn sexy! They might have decided on a few different photos for their months but these were my favorites so here they are!

Alyssa and Mitchell Engagement Shoot. I absolutely loved these two! They were amazing to work with. We went on a day long photo adventure and it was worth every minute.

Baby Isabelle :) The first infant shoot I’ve done. I am generally really pleased with the pictures, but I’ll admit I was a tad bit nervous! So much so that I completely forgot to do most of the things I wanted to do. So while I like these photos, I know I can do better! I’m excited to get another opportunity to try this infant photography again. I’ll need Miss Mae there next time to give me direction.

I had a stroke of luck and was allowed to be the second photographer for Carbon Copy Studios at this beautiful wedding!

Kallie and I took a trip to the orchard. She wasn’t too happy with the bugs :) But we had fun! Such a cutie!!

Today I got to mess around with studio lighting for the first time. It was for a project in my class Media Technologies. The project included building and lighting a set. While we only had to take one photo for credit, I went overboard and had a little photo finger seizure. We had fun messing around with all the weird props we had, and yeah maybe they don’t make much sense, but whatever! Luckily I have this awesomely badass partner named Ashley who not only allowed me to take non-school related photos of her, but also agreed to style her hair in her gravity defying mo-hawk! While she looked fantastic, I was slightly disappointed in my own performance. Having never worked with any artificial lighting before, it was a little tough. And I am becoming increasingly aware of my lack of skill in the directing department. I need to grow a back bone and learn to tell people what looks good and how I need them to move to improve my photos in general. Obviously something I’ll learn in time. But if anyone has any pointers let me know!
